About Us

Posh Yarn is run by the husband and wife team, Trudie & Tony Bamford. Trudie (aka Dee) has worked in the textile business for many years, and has been a knitter for even longer than that. Tony is a recent yarn convert, but is passionate about dyeing, and doesn't mind in the slightest having rainbow coloured hands.

Yarn Information

Our yarns are of the highest quality, and are carefully hand dyed and hand finished. You can see details of the yarns we carry by going to our yarn information page. Dye lots are kept small to ensure quality control. There can be significant shade differences between dye lots, so when purchasing yarn for a project, please be sure to order sufficient quantity to complete that project. We recommend that all our yarns be hand washed with gentle detergent in cool water, to help them retain their vibrant colours. As with most hand dyed yarns, it is usually best for you to alternate skeins every few rows, to prevent striping.

Payments

We currently accept credit and debit cards via the PayPal shopping cart system, one of the safest ways to pay online. PayPal's data security is state of the art: PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). If you are still concerned about using a credit card online, we also accept cheque and postal order payments from UK buyers. Please note that international buyers must use PayPal.

Delivery

Your yarn will usually be dispatched on the next working day after purchase. Our shipping charge is set at £1.75 for UK orders, and £2.75 for orders from outside the UK, regardless of order size. Please note that if you are an international buyer, you may have to pay a customs charge on receipt of your package.

Returns Policy

You have the right to cancel an order for any reason within seven days of receipt of the goods. Providing that unwanted goods are received back to us in unused and resaleable condition within seven days of delivery, we will refund payment for the goods. Orders placed by credit or debit card through PayPal will be refunded directly to your credit or debit card. Orders placed by other means will be refunded by cheque. These refunds will be made within 30 days of return of goods. We cannot accept liability for returned goods lost or damaged during transit. Please package the goods carefully to avoid damage, and to return them by recorded delivery, registered post, or by courier. Proof of postage cannot be accepted as proof of delivery. Please remember to include your name, address, and a copy of your purchase receipt with the returned items. We will not refund the postage cost of returned orders. In the unlikely event that you receive damaged or faulty goods, please notify us within 7 days of receipt, and we will dispatch a replacement order on return of the faulty items.

Privacy Policy

We do not disclose buyers' information to third parties. If you subscribe to our mailing list, we will not pass on your email address to any third party, nor use it for any reason other than to update you on new products and services.
